Summary

Preacher Harry Powell (Robert Mitchum)learns that his cellmate Ben Harper (Peter Graves)has $10,000.00 on his property in a small town. When Powell is released he charms his way into the hearts of the towns people and into Ben's widow (Shelley Winters).
